One Level Game: Hardcore

"Donut."

date: August 2, 2008

I gotta fuckin' DONUT. Fuck yeah!

This was more of an exorcise of patience and memory than I like in a game. It was a matter of... do the obstacle, die when the next one sneaks up on you, do the first obstacle and be ready for the second, die when the third sneaks up on you.

Still a nice diversion

Who Killed The Internet?

"Not a bad idea, but..."

date: November 27, 2007

It doesn't help that the first thing I saw was pretty much stolen directly from the Emo Song.

The humor is pretty lacking. Do a little more than just mindless imitation for ten minutes. And every scene should be about half as long as it is, anyhow.

The enforcer part was the best amongst the ones I had the patience to sit through. You at least managed to smash a couple creative thoughts together to form a criticism of a double standard there. Forum mods are often abusive of their powers because that's all they have. Beginnings of wit! The furry was the worst - you took over a goddamn minute to say that furries like doing animals. We get it. Most of the other bits were just as mindless and droning.

The 'constructive' bit of the low score is this: "Emos are emo haha" is not enough. You need a joke, or a punchline, or at least *good* insults.

Author's Response:

Suddenly, all parodies of emos are direct rip-offs of "The Emo Song"? Give me a break, furfag.

The Last Stand.

"Very solid game!"

submission: The Last Stand.
date: April 27, 2007

However, on my computer at least, the automatic weapons seem to be a little reluctant to actually shoot after reloading. Once I got the sawn off shotgun, I didn't use anything else, though.

The graphics are incredible, and it even ran smoothly on this old junk computer I'm using right now. The diaries gave it at least a little plot, but you could make the diary updates a little easier to get to next time, I guess. My final complaint is that it was actually too easy. Maybe give some of the zombies ranged weapons or spawn the occaisional boss zombie.

Not to say that I didn't love the game... this thing's getting 5'd and 10'd. Really well done!

you can't kill me

"And I thought dA had issues."

I guess you can just rely on people of smaller and generic organizations like that being full of their own crap. Whatever... I've never had any interest or respect for sheezy. Newgrounds is an infinitely better host for flashes with a community that at least manages to police itself, and you can usually rely on the stuff you submit to dA *staying* there, even if it contradicts the site's opinion. On the subject of reviewing the flash, the shirt texture was kind of cheap, but the facial expressions were great, especially the end there.

Stick it to 'em?

Animator vs. Animation II

"Ownsauce"

date: March 15, 2007

Alright, another one! The pacing and animation is ever better this time. I was a little sad to see the firefox fox get smacked down though ;)

Could still use some music or something. It's still completely awesome though, 5'd and 10'd!

"Great puzzler, hungering for more!"

submission: Gateway
date: October 28, 2006

Very, very well thought out game. The bit with the telescope was, well, cinematic, and I enjoyed having to clash some braincells together, I was almost ready to give up on the last one for a bit. As with everyone else, I think the length is the only real flaw in the game. But that really just means you got me addicted. Great job!

Cap'n Zappy

"Fun, cute, and stylish"

Stylized and a good example of taking a simple system and making it fun and challenging. In fact, I really enjoyed the stage going upside down and spinning around and such. Overall very good and pretty addictive.
